What is Talavera Pottery?

Talavera was originally made by indigenous people who lived along Mexico’s central plateau region (known as Anahuac) around 700 AD–it wasn’t until after the Spanish conquest that Europeans began producing this style of pottery themselves because they didn’t want to rely on indigenous labor or materials. Today, most Talavera pieces are still produced by hand rather than machine; however, some machines are used during certain stages of production such as drying or firing the finished product at high temperatures so it will harden properly before being painted or glazed over again later down the line!

Talavera Art

Talavera Art is a Mexican ceramics style that was created in Puebla, Mexico. It is characterized by colorful designs that are hand painted onto the pottery. These pieces are made using traditional techniques and materials including copper, tin oxide and lime stone glazes.

How is Talavera Made?

Talavera is made from clay, water, and natural pigments. The clay is shaped into decorative pieces by hand and then fired in a kiln at high temperatures. Each piece bears the mark of its maker; no two pieces are exactly alike!

This pottery is handcrafted by artisans in Mexico who use traditional methods handed down through generations of families that have been producing this beautiful pottery since pre-Hispanic times (before 1521).
