What Are Steelite Plates?

Steelite is a brand of dinnerware that has been manufactured by Steelite International Limited since 1955, when it was established as a company in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The name “Steelite” comes from the material used to make the plates–stainless steel and porcelain or stoneware.

The materials used to make Steelite Plates include:

  • Porcelain (also known as china or faience)
  • Stoneware (or earthenware just like Talavera)

What Are Steelite Plates Made of?

Steelite is a brand of porcelain tableware, made in the UK. It is made from porcelain and is available in a variety of colors and shapes. Porcelain is an extremely hard material that can be produced by mixing clay with other minerals such as feldspar and kaolin. When fired at high temperatures (around 1400 degrees Celsius), these materials fuse together to form a ceramic material that has excellent thermal shock resistance properties–meaning that it won’t crack if you put hot food on it or drink from your cup too quickly! Put them on a table on a hanging shelves or any other space, they fit in just right.

The Steelite name was created by Royal Crown Derby, who manufacture this type of tableware along with many others under their nameplate including Wedgwood & Royal Doulton brands among others; World Kitchen Inc., one of America’s largest manufacturers of kitchenware products today, owns all three companies!
